ABOUT ME

Samantha Wills

​Hi, my name is Sam Wills, welcome to my website. I began my yoga journey in South Africa in 2007 and have been blessed to study yoga under the tutorage of many talented yoga mentors both in SA and in the UK.

 

I am a 300-hr certified yoga teacher with the British Wheel of Yoga. The style of yoga I teach is predominantly Hatha-based but sprinkled with elements of Ashtanga and Vinyasa teachings, from which I take my inspiration. I am passionate about yoga and its benefits and my greatest motivator is to help others live healthier, more fulfilling lives through the magic of movement and yoga.

I discovered yoga in 2007. I had been diagnosed with endometriosis and was battling to come to terms with the fact that I might never fall pregnant. I was going to gym a lot - it was a good way to vent all the anger that was raging inside of me.

 

I stumbled across a yoga class and, in one of those classes, I had a beautiful moment of such inner peace and clarity; it was as though I had come home to ME. That sealed the deal. I had been so angry with myself for so long – angry for having a body that didn’t work, angry for failing, and for letting my husband and family down. And in the middle of a yoga class, I stopped hating myself.   

 

Years later and I am a very proud mummy of a bright and spirited 10 year old. I don’t know if I would have discovered yoga, or have fallen as deeply in love with it, had it not been for my struggle to become a mother.

 

‘Om and Me’ is a play on the word ‘Mom’ and is intrinsically linked to my battle to have a child of my own, a nod to how I found yoga (or it found me) and my subsequent journey to where I am today – a yoga teacher and a mum of a fearless, energetic, completely individual, magical daughter whom I adore. Om and Me is my tribute to all of that – how yoga has helped me become a better mum and a better person.

 

I hope you will join me on your mat to explore your own love of yoga.

Menopause Yoga
Yoga Class

Menopause Yoga was created by senior yoga teacher Petra Coveney who is also a member of the British Menopause Society. Her Menopause Yoga Teacher Training programme has been accredited by both the British Wheel of Yoga (BWY) and Yoga Alliance (YA). Menopause Yoga (MY) has been developed with the support of Dr Louise Newson, recognised as one of the UK’s leading menopause experts. 

 

Menopause Yoga aims to bring together Western medical science with Eastern wellbeing practices in a holistic way to guide women through all stages of menopause.

 

The Menopause Yoga workshops have been designed to support all women going through the menopause, with modifications to help beginners to advanced students practise yoga asana, breathwork and meditations whenever they need.

Many women feel isolated and alone when they go through the menopause. These Menopause Yoga workshops are an enjoyable way to share your experiences with other women in a safe and supportive environment; laugh, connect and embrace the changes while also learning techniques on how to manage the main symptoms of menopause through yoga asana (poses), breathwork and meditation; and take away useful information about natural remedies, nutrition, Ayurveda and medical approaches to HRT.

MENOPAUSE YOGA

What you can expect from each workshop

  • A women’s circle where you can talk, share ideas, listen, ask questions and discover what other women have found that works for them

  • A gentle and restorative yoga practice specifically adapted to help manage the main symptoms of menopause (ie hot flushes, menorage and irritability, anxiety and overwhelm, and increasing bone and heart health)

  • Breathing practices you can use when you’re experiencing some of the more common symptoms

  • Journal writing

  • Guidance on alternative therapies, nutrition and medical approaches to hormone replacement

  • Rest and relaxation to help you embrace the changes and celebrate our ‘Second Spring’

  • A 30 minute talk from a guest speaker in her area of expertise

  • Goodie bag and handout

 

Please bring your own mat, blankets, pillows or cushions and a water bottle.

 

Investment £45 per workshop

  • A 10% discount if you sign up for all 4 workshops

  • A further 10% discount if you bring a friend (10% off the whole course if she signs up for the course too, or 10% off each workshop she signs up for)
